How to build your family budget in 15 minutes

A budget is not about cutting everything. It is about deciding in advance where money goes, instead of finding out at the end of the month.

1. Start with income (5 minutes)

Add up the money the family reliably receives every month: salaries, pensions, benefits. Leave out uncertain income such as overtime — if it comes, it is a bonus.

2. List fixed bills (5 minutes)

Rent or mortgage, utilities, internet, school, health insurance. Use the average of the last three months. In Meu Gasto, add each one under Bills with “Every month”: the app reminds you before the due date.

3. Set limits for variable spending (5 minutes)

Groceries, transport, leisure and shopping change every month. Pick a limit for each in Budget. A common reference:

It is not a fixed rule; what matters is that the total fits your income.

4. Check in once a week

Log expenses right away (it takes seconds) and review the summary on Sunday. If a category goes over, decide: make up for it elsewhere or accept it consciously.

Tip: the best budget is the one your family can actually follow. Start simple and adjust next month.

Log an expense in seconds, see upcoming bills and know how much is left until the end of the month. No spreadsheets, no hassle — for you and your family.
