About Meu Gasto
Meu Gasto is a money organiser for families. It runs in the browser on phones and computers, with nothing to install, and helps answer everyday questions: how much is left until the end of the month, which bills are due this week, how much is already committed on the credit card and what the next months look like.
Who it is for
For families and people who want to get their finances in order without complicated spreadsheets or technical knowledge. Each family member can have their own login and see the same, synced data.
What the app does
- Records income and spending, with categories.
- Organises bills to pay and money to receive, with reminders.
- Shows each credit card statement, including upcoming installments.
- Helps plan the month and the year and track net worth and debts.
- Answers questions about your own numbers in "Ask", with calculations done by the app itself.
Meu Gasto never asks for bank passwords and does not move money. The free plan covers household budgeting. The paid plans (Plus and Pro) add reports and features for those who need more, and never show ads.
The Learn section
The Learn section is open to everyone, with no sign-up. It currently has 23 guides on budgeting, bills, credit cards, debt, emergency funds, beginner investing and financial scams, organised by topic and in reading paths. There are also free calculators that do the maths with your numbers without saving anything, and an official news page with the headline and summary published by each source and a link to the original text. The guides explain Brazilian rules (Brazilian law, the Central Bank of Brazil and amounts in reais).
How the content is made
Meu Gasto is the editor responsible for the guides. They are not signed by experts, because there is no team of analysts, accountants or financial planners behind them.
- Preparation: each guide starts from a topic chosen by Meu Gasto and follows the same outline: a short explanation, an example with illustrative numbers, practical steps, common mistakes and frequently asked questions.
- Artificial intelligence tools: the texts are written with the help of AI tools, which also help translate them into English and Spanish and redo the maths.
- Checking the maths and the sources: before publishing, every calculation in the examples is redone step by step. Statements about laws, rates and rules are checked against the official sources listed at the end of each guide, such as the Central Bank of Brazil and the Brazilian government. The calculators' formulas are tested automatically with every version of the app.
- Review date: the top of each guide shows when it was last checked. When a rule changes or a mistake is found, the guide is corrected and the date changes.
- Independence: the guides do not recommend specific banks, cards, brokers or investments, and nobody pays to be mentioned.
- Corrections: found a mistake? Tell us through the contact page. The fix is made in the guide itself.
Limits of the information
Meu Gasto's content is educational. It does not replace individual advice from a professional (accountant, lawyer, adviser or financial planner) and is not an investment recommendation. Examples use illustrative numbers. Rates, laws and rules change: always check the official source before deciding. Meu Gasto is not a bank or financial institution.
